Torre Annunziata. He is accused of committing fourteen robberies against gas stations in just one month.
For this reason, the Carabinieri of the Torre Annunziata station, in execution of an order implementing the precautionary measure of custody in prison issued by the investigating judge of the Oplonti court at the request of the Torre Annunziata Prosecutor's Office, proceeded with the arrest of a person (whose personal details were not provided).
The man is accused of having committed 14 robberies, aggravated by the use of firearms, between Torre Annunziata, Torre del Greco, Trecase, Pompei, Santa Maria la Carita' and Scafati, in the period between January and February of last year.
The investigations arose from complaints filed by shopkeepers, which were appropriately analysed and systematised to detect recurring traits in the modus operandi adopted by the robber, who was accustomed to moving rapidly on a scooter with a concealed license plate, his face covered and a gun in his hand, sometimes together with an accomplice (currently unidentified).
The investigations were carried out by analyzing the footage captured by the video surveillance systems, footage analyzed by the investigators to extract every useful detail.
”During the robberies – explains the prosecutor of Torre Annunziata, Nunzio Fragliasso – during which no qualms were shown in threatening the victims with a gun, pointed directly at the petrol pump attendants in possession of cash, a total of just under 9.000 euros had been stolen over the course of a month”.
