Below you will find some examples of system bets and some tips on how to use them most effectively at a bookmaker.
What is a System Bet?
A system bet is very similar to a combination bet that can be found in any bookmaker, but there is a fundamental difference between the two.
Both types of bets initially consist of several single bets, in which the odds of the respective events are combined with each other and transformed into certain odds.
However, with combination betting you need to accurately predict 100% of the events, while with a system bet only a certain portion of all the individual bets need to be accurate for the bet to be successful.
A system bet is not necessarily a system of betting on certain sporting events, as the name suggests, but rather the systematic presentation of a betting slip.
So let's say you've placed a 3 out of 5 system bet. The bet slip consists of five games, of which only three must be predicted accurately for the bet to be a winner. However, if you only get 3 out of 5 results right, you can't hope for big wins.
With the 3 out of 5 system, the five matches are always entered in groups of three and not in a combination of five, as in the case of a combination bet. This results in 10 possible combinations, or 10 lines of bets. We explain how this type of bet works in more detail in the next paragraph.
How to Submit a System Bet at a Bookmaker
At first glance, a system bet can be quite confusing, but we will shed some light on how it works.
First, you can see how many single bets are on your betting slip.
Then you can select your preferred bet type, in this case the system bet. You can also choose between different types (3 out of 5, 4 out of 5, etc.).
Let's say we've selected the 3 of 5 option, which creates 10 betting lines. Each betting line has a stake, so the total cost of this bet is 50 euros, with a potential win if all five matches are correct. If all five events are correct, all 10 combinations of three are won.
Tips and Tricks to Create the Best System Bet Possible
Ultimately, you have to find out for yourself which system bet is best for you. However, there are some tips and tricks that can make your life easier.
It is advisable to choose events that you believe are predictable enough for the betting system to be successful.
So think about whether you want to place your system bet as a combination bet as well. You need to do everything you can to maximize your chances of winning at a bookmaker.
3 of 5
There are three different approaches. You can choose:
Only events with high odds. The risks are quite high here, but the reward is definitely worth it.
- Two favorites that are believed to have a high probability of winning. The other three bets should have higher odds. This way, if you guess the results correctly, you will win a decent amount of money.
- Favorites Only. The name says it all. You simply choose favorites that are likely to win. This is a great option if you don't want to risk too much. However, don't expect to make a lot of money with this bet.
6 of 8
Too large combinations, such as the 6 out of 8 system, are usually not worth it, because the risks are too high. It is very likely that you will lose, regardless of the events you decide to choose.
Summary
Regardless of how many events you decide to choose for your betting system, remember to choose wisely. Don't choose something just for the sake of having high betting odds. It's better to win a little money than not to win at all.
