A foreign tourist who was staying in the area had taken her puppy to the park for a walk; suddenly a seagull arrived and took the dog away, to the general dismay of those present.
The story is told by the councilor of the III Municipality Stella-San Carlo all'Arena Carlo Restaino (Europa Verde) who reports the incident on Fanpage.it: “The episode was confirmed by several people present. According to the reconstruction, the dog's owner was a foreign tourist, who was staying in a hotel in the area. She took the puppy to the park for a walk and untied him, not knowing that it is only possible to do so in areas where walking is permitted. When a seagull pounced on the animal and took him away to the general dismay of the people who were in the park. Unfortunately, the dog has disappeared without a trace."
“Protect the puppies with a leash”
Councillor Carlo Restaino further explains that it is a question of "of a small dog puppy, apparently a Miniature Pinscher, according to reports. I would like to launch an invitation to all visitors to the Bosco di Capodimonte, but also to other public parks, to protect their dogs by keeping them on a leash, especially if they are small or puppies. In the park, you can let your four-legged friends run free in the areas designated for running. But even in that case, you have to be very careful. I hope that all animal lovers can be careful, to avoid other unpleasant stories, like the one we have collected”.
An episode that highlights how it is necessary to pay attention to dangers that can also come from the sky: seagulls are known to be capable of such things.
