Agreement between Enit and Trenitalia, artistic postcards on Intercity trains to promote the Peninsula
Sustainable and family travel with a carriage dedicated to families and bikers with over 600 bike spaces per day and charging points.
Agreement signed between ENIT and Trenitalia (FS Italiane Group) to enhance the country's tourist attractions and promote Italian locations through Intercity travel.
You can travel on a train wrapped with eight postcards depicting artistic beauties and natural landscapes that can be reached with the sustainable means of transport par excellence. The National Tourism Agency and Trenitalia thus bring tastes of the Bel Paese aboard the Intercity trains also appreciated by tourists from abroad, with 124 connections per day, between Day and Night, and over 75 new stops for summer 2022, to which are added the Frecce and the Regional trains of Trenitalia.
To encourage the travel experience across the Peninsula, an area in carriage 3 has been dedicated to families with 24 seats, a stroller area, a nursery inside a spacious bathroom, themed tables with games for the little ones, a vending machine and a stand up area. In addition to this, there is the “free children” promotion which provides for one free child up to 15 years of age for every paying adult.
The development of Italian potential also involves direct efforts to create synergies between all operators in the sector – comments ENIT CEO Roberta Garibaldi – Doing so at a time when a new history is being written for Italian tourism provides an image and a choral story of the Peninsula as a travel experience dedicated to uniqueness and the valorization of its identity heritage”
“Sustainability plays a central role in the Enit strategic plan – declares Maria Elena Rossi, marketing director of ENIT – Activating collaborations with the main international travel partners allows us to strengthen, with a view to synergy and concrete exchange, the tools and vectors through which routes and destinations are oriented”.
“We are proud of the agreement with Enit – explains Domenico Scida, Director of Business Intercity – and as much as Intercity is used for tourist travel in our country. It is a further step towards the integration between the train and the promotion of countless destinations and artistic beauties just a few steps from the stations served. There will be more than five million customers who will have traveled on Intercity by the end of the summer and among the most popular destinations are the Ligurian Riviera and Versilia, Sicily and the entire Adriatic Riviera”.
