Ex Cirio Castellammare affair: the nine suspects tomorrow before the investigating judge of Torre Annunziata. And among them also the senator Luigi Cesaro and the deputy Antonio Pentangelo, both expressions of Forza Italia from Campania.
Among other things, the Torre Annunziata Prosecutor's Office has filed an appeal with the Supreme Court to ask once again that the Review Court express its opinion on the request for the arrest of Cesaro and Pentangelo.
In particular, the contested episodes (and for which house arrest was requested for both Cesaro and Pentangelo) concern two alleged episodes of corruption involving an entrepreneur, in relation to the future of the former Cirio real estate complex in Castellammare di Stabia.
The request for the arrest of the two parliamentarians was annulled by the Review Court due to the inadmissibility of the wiretaps and contested by the Prosecutor's Office in Cassation. The ermines agreed with the investigators of Torre Annunziata, once again pushing the Review Court to express its opinion on the request, which was once again annulled, this time because after two years the precautionary requirements no longer existed.
At the heart of the investigation, however, is the rigged appointment of Maurizio Biondi as commissioner ad acta (a measure signed in 2014 by Antonio Pentangelo, then acting vice president of the province of Naples) for the issuing of the building permit in the former Cirio area.
But the investigation also includes the architect Antonio Elefante, technical director of the Cirio operation and intermediary with Biondi.
