Heat wave Naples and Campania, red alert from 8 tomorrow morning to 8 on July 5

The Civil Protection of the Region Campania has issued a criticality warning for weather risk from a “heat wave”.

Starting from 8 am tomorrow morning, Saturday 2 July, and until 8 am on Tuesday 5 July, in the municipalities of the regional territory classified as moderate and high risk (as per the list attached to DGR 870 of 8 July 2005 published in the Burc n. 37 of 1 August 2005) maximum temperatures are expected that could be higher than the seasonal average values ​​of 5/7 degrees C, associated with a humidity level that, especially in the evening and night hours on the coastal sector, could even exceed 60/80% and in conditions of poor ventilation.

The Regional Operations Room, in consideration of the notice issued by the Functional Center of Civil Protection, invites the mayors of all Municipalities and the competent bodies to implement their own procedures relating to the surveillance of the vulnerable groups of the population. It is recommended not to expose yourself to the sun or practice sports activities during the hottest hours. Particular attention must be paid by heart patients, the elderly, children and subjects at risk.
