Campania Weather Alert: the region's civil protection has issued a Yellow weather warning for rain and thunderstorms valid from 20 pm today, Thursday 7 July until 14 pm tomorrow, Friday 8 July.
The notice concerns the central sectors of the regione and, in particular, the zones: 2, 3, 4, 5 (Zone 2: Alto Volturno and Matese; Zone 3: Sorrento-Amalfi Peninsula, Sarno Mountains and Picentini Mountains; Zone 4: Alta Irpinia and Sannio; Zone 5: Tusciano and Alto Sele). Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in these areas, occasionally intense.
"The storms, in fact, will be characterized by rapid evolution and forecast uncertainty. Therefore they could be sudden and also give rise to lightning and hail with consequent falling of branches or trees. Flooding, rising water levels of watercourses, falling rocks and occasional landslides linked to particularly fragile conditions of the territory are possible" we read in a note from the regional civil protection.
