The case of an anesthesiologist who sexually assaulted a woman while she was in the delivery room is causing shock. The man was caught in a shocking video circulating online.
The professional was arrested on Monday, July 11, 2022, and the episode happened at the Hospital da Mulher Heloneida Studart in Vilar dos Teles, São João de Meriti, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His name is Giovanni Quintella Bezerra, 31 years old, and he was reported by his own colleghi, who are also the authors of the video in which the abuse of the unconscious victim is clearly visible.
Under Rio's laws, the man faces a prison sentence of 8 to 15 years for the rape of a vulnerable person, while other possible victims are investigated. Meanwhile, the Regional Medical Council has opened an investigation file with the intent of taking administrative action, and the hospital management has also reportedly launched an internal investigation.
