Angela Iannotta returns home after 7 months in hospital, her father: “Now we want justice to take its course quickly.”

Angela Iannotta returns home after 7 months of hospitalization. Severely tested, after 6 surgeries, Angela Iannotta returns home and hugs her three children after 7 long months of hospitalization.

Angela was also in a coma after the first life-saving surgery at Caserta Hospital.

She is now alive thanks to a technological surgery (performed on June 13th) at the Secondo Policlinico in Naples, by a team of excellence headed by the director of the Italian school of surgery, Prof. Francesco Corcione (speaker at international conferences and director of surgical sessions also at the Ircard in Strasbourg).

Prof. Corcione, professor of general surgery at the Federico II University of Naples, managed to reconstruct part of Angela's stomach, esophagus and intestine, compromised by septic shock (caused by the devastating complications of two previous bariatric surgery operations), in a single surgical session (lasting between 7 and 9 hours).

The first mini gastric bypass at the Villa Letizia Clinic in l'Aquila in March of last year and the second at the Villa del Sole Clinic in Caserta in January of this year.

The two “incriminated” operations bear the signature of surgeon Stefano Cristiano, investigated for very serious negligent injuries in a healthcare setting by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, following the complaints of Angela’s lawyers, Raffaele and Gaetano Crisileo.

Now the young mother has regained a minimum of feeding functionality and intestinal continuity even if she needs to be monitored periodically.
Of course, her life is now complicated by the after-effects of what happened to her, but – as her father said – the important thing is that she is alive, thanks to Prof. Corcione.
We were ready for anything – concluded Mario Iannotta – and in the end our prayers were answered.

Finally, Angela's father made an appeal to the judiciary: "We want justice to take its course quickly and for responsibilities to be ascertained. I am willing to do anything to obtain justice."
