Naples, positive balance for the three-day event The Gentle Artists of the City a Royal Palace from 28th to 30th June with approximately 2.000 attendance.
The organizers have achieved the ambitious original goal of encouraging intergenerational dialogue on current issues such as new ways of enjoying museums, environmental sustainability, the history of Naples through the works of 19th-century Neapolitan painting, high fashion with the documentary film on the E. Marinella fashion house, cinema with the presentation of the book on the life of Monica Vitti, food between identity and culture and, last but not least, the meeting with internationally prestigious figures during the official awards ceremony.
All this was The Gentle Artists of the City, the cultural project conceived and organized by the Artis Suavitas Aps Association, chaired by the lawyer. Anthony Larizza, with the patronage of Ministry of Cultureand Campania regionand Metropolitan City of Naples, from the Common di Napoli,University of Naples “Federico II”, by RAI – Campania and Royal Palace di Napoli.

Anthony Larizza, President of the Artis Suavitas Aps Association – as the location of our event as it represents a jewel in the crown of that inestimable artistic and cultural heritage with which the Campania region is notably endowed, thus contributing to the promotion and enhancement of a site of great historical and architectural value. In relation to the award winners, I would like to thank the Scientific Committee for having identified those international excellences who with their qualities contribute daily to the diffusion of the arts, culture and knowledge in various fields, everywhere in the world”.
The award ceremony Artis Suavitas Awards 2022, masterfully conducted by Veronica Maya, gave unique emotions to the spectators present in the Theater di Court of the Royal Palace, on whose stage, during the evening of Thursday 30 June, they took turns to collect “The Tree of Culture”: Piero Angela (journalist and science communicator); Pupi Avati (director); Diego DeSilva (writer); Laura Delli Colli (journalist and writer); Oscar Farinetti (entrepreneur); Massimiliano Gallo (actor and director); Hauser (musician); Alessio Lapice (actor); Milot (painter and sculptor); Michelangelo Pistoletto (painter and sculptor); Liu Ruowang (painter and sculptor) and Maya Such (actress and model).
During the grand awards gala, the writer Maurizio de Giovanni, accompanied by the guitar of Maestro Antonio Saturno, was the protagonist of a poignant and emotional monologue dedicated to the lyricist and poet Vincenzo Russo, author of the verses of I' te vurria vasà; 'A serenata d' 'e rose; Maria Marì; Canzona bella; Nuttata a mare; Torna Maggio and L'urdema canzone mia (Tutt'è fernuto). Maurizio de Giovanni on the stage of the Teatro di Corte of Palazzo Reale made the audience understand how Vincenzo Russo, despite not receiving a regular education, still represents a symbol of excellence in the world of arts and culture. Closing the edition of Artis Suavitas Civitas 2022 on the stage of the Teatro di Corte of Palazzo Reale in Naples, the internationally renowned musician Hauser who, in collecting the award from the hands of President Antonio Larizza, enchanted the audience with his cello.
During the ceremony last Thursday, Dr. Luke Orlando, as the winner of the call dedicated to the most deserving graduate during the Academic Year in question, who, based on what has been established by the Scientific Committee of the Artis Suavitas Award, will be entitled to a Scholarship of €3.000,00 to access a Second Level Master's Degree at one of the Universities present in the Campania region.
The Scientific Committee of the Artis Suavitas Award is composed of the Magistrate Nicola Graziano (President); by the Writer Maurizio de Giovanni and by the Deputy Director of the National Tgr Rai Antonello Paolo Perillo.
The sculpture of the Award given to international excellence was created by the Artist Precious CettinaIn partnership with Anna Napolitano, it represents the Tree of Culture, depicting a person who reads taking lifeblood from the social values of his land, fundamental values for those who are well rooted in their social environment, knowledge worthy of being learned and transmitted to subsequent generations. The perpetuation, the cyclical nature of these values is demonstrated in the work by the roots of the tree that sink into a wheel, a symbol of renewal and the inexorable passage of time.
