Banco di Napoli: The Ministry of Economy and Finance has rejected the transitional presidency of the Foundation.

In the last few days the members of the General Council should have elected the successor of Rossella Paliotto, the entrepreneur who last March resigned from the presidency of the board of directors after having settled the accounts with a revenue of 11 million euros.

And from that day on, the race for succession began. In the front row is Francis Caia, former president of the Neapolitan lawyers who is already a member of the board of directors and regent after Paliotto's farewell.

Caia himself had put forward his own idea just a couple of months ago candidacy. If elected, he would have remained in office until the fall, when the entire board of directors will expire and there will be another vote to establish who will hold the helm of the Foundation for the next four years.

Il Ministry of Economy, however, suggested moving forward and waiting for the autumn elections. The decision was weighed down by two conflicting opinions from external experts regarding whether the summer elections would usher in a third term for Caia (which the Foundation's statute prohibits).

One to sign Blandini, the other with that of ironi. The ministry suggested to postpone the elections and a motion proposed by two General Councillors of the Foundation – Marcello D'Aponte ed Alfredo Gualtieri – has accepted the indication. Everything has been postponed until autumn, therefore, when the president who will remain in office until 2026 will be elected. Among the possible candidates Horace Abbamonte, but other candidates could emerge in the coming months.
