Battipaglia. The military personnel of the Acerno Forestry Carabinieri Station, as part of the intensification of controls on animal abuse which registers an increase with the arrival of the summer season, were alerted by the Operations Centre regarding a presumed case of dog abuse in the municipality of Battipaglia.
The soldiers promptly alerted the ASL veterinary service and the local police with whom they went to the indicated location, a private home.
Three pitbull dogs were found, one of which was chained and locked inside a metal enclosure with no roof and therefore exposed to full sunlight, another, also chained, kept inside a narrow concrete box and finally the third dog, also chained, but inside the house.

The intervention of the ASL veterinarians made it possible to ascertain that the hygienic and detention conditions in which the animals were kept were precarious and showed signs of suffering due to the torrid heat of the last few days, although excluding the presence of serious pathologies in progress.
In light of what had emerged and considering the conditions of detention that did not meet the needs of the animals and the provisions of the law, the operating personnel immediately proceeded to seize the dogs and report the incident to the Judicial Authority pursuant to art. 544 ter of the Penal Code which punishes the conduct of "animal abuse".
