Napoli Calcio, after a long tug-of-war, has officially announced the departure of Dries Mertens, the club's most prolific striker in history.
President Aurelio De Laurentiis announced it in an interview yesterday, and today the club posted a celebratory video on Twitter with a simple "thank you."
Mertens is leaving on a free transfer after having refused the offer to renew his contract for another year at 2,4 million euros, according to the club.
