This is the outcome of thepreliminary hearing celebrated in front of the gup di Napoli Linda D'Ancona, which accepted the request of the PM of the Neapolitan DDA Fabrizio Vanorio. Cellular is accused of having sent to Bertone a letter in which it was written: "I sincerely hope that I will get out soon, so I can blow you up. If anyone gets out before me, he will have to shoot you and your whole shitty race 10 times in the mouth."
Bertone he reported to the Carabinieri of having received the letter. The Provincial Committee for public order and safety has ordered the activation of occasional surveillance at the home and workplace. The lawyer Gennaro Razzino, representing Bertone and the other civil parties, Libra Editrice and the Order of Journalists of Campania, underlined “the courage of the director who, despite the circumstances, wanted to attend the hearing personally, finding himself face to face with the man who was threatening her”.

Also the president of the Order of Journalists of Campania Ottavio Lucarelli intervenes on the matter, which defines "grave" e "which risks becoming a dangerous precedent. In this case - explains - the threats are addressed to the director of a newspaper and have been formulated in an unequivocal manner. Among other things, the writer of the letter, serving a life sentence for Camorra murder, signs his name and surname and addresses a sort of call to arms to those who are outside. The Order of Journalists of Campania strongly wanted to be close to the director Bertone by constituting itself as a civil party in the trial. It is an attack aimed at the entire category and at those who practice the profession with courage, promptly reporting the Camorra events that bloody our land. Gestures of this kind cannot be passed over in silence. They must be reported and prosecuted”.
Statements of solidarity with the director, immediately after the serious episode, were pronounced by the President of the Chamber of Deputies Roberto Fico, from the Vice President of the Chamber Ettore Rosato, from the governor of Campania, Vincenzo De Luca from the president of Libera Father Luigi Ciotti, from the Leu MP Rina Valeria De Lorenzo, who also presented a parliamentary question on the matter, by the leaders of the Order of Journalists and the National Federation of the Press and by numerous other exponents of the world of politics and institutions.
