Carabinieri and Enel closer to protect the country: an innovative protocol with strong environmental value has been signed.

The Carabinieri and Enel are even closer in preventing and combating illegality, protecting the environment and the territory: these were the themes of the meeting held in Naples, aimed at implementing at the local level what is set out in the protocol signed between the Carabinieri and the Company last November, focused on protecting the environment and natural resources, fighting climate change and contributing to sustainable economic development.

It is precisely on the territory that the agreement will have its full operation thanks to the new participatory security model that will allow to jointly address the complex issues related to the security and operational continuity of electricity networks and infrastructures, the protection of the personnel responsible for their management and the company assets. During the meeting, the phenomenon of scams related to the energy sector was also explored, in particular the fraudulent phenomenon of the existence of abusive operators who pass themselves off as Enel Energia agents over the phone in order to gain the attention of the interlocutor, and then offer during the phone call contracts with competing third parties. In this regard, the energy company recalled that the telephone numbers authorized by Enel Energia can be verified on its website and that citizens can contact the official contact channels for any reports.

The agreement aims to enhance the widespread presence of the Army and Enel throughout Italy as a starting point for joint actions. The Carabinieri and the energy company are in fact present in every corner of the country, often in areas of strong environmental importance.

The Force will involve the Departments of the Special and Forestry Organizations, with particular reference to the Carabinieri Commands for Environmental Protection and Ecological Transition, as well as for the Protection of Biodiversity and Parks. Enel, through its territorial branches, will guarantee a timely exchange of information on situations of interest to the Carabinieri, also reporting any environmental critical issues, with particular attention to the prevention of forest fires.

The agreement also includes energy efficiency projects for the structures owned by the Arma throughout the country and for the development of sustainable mobility.
