Caserta. In Santa Maria la Fossa yesterday afternoon, various teams of Firefighters from the Provincial Command of Caserta They intervened in response to a fire that broke out inside a depot for heavy vehicles used for waste collection, located on the SP 333 in the municipality of Santa Maria la Fossa.
The Fire Brigade immediately arrived on site with various teams: one from the Caserta Command Headquarters, one from the Mondragone detachment, the Mondragone Fire Brigade TDF team (deployed to put out waste fires in the Land of Fires) and one from the Benevento Command, supported in the extinguishing operations by four firefighters: two from the Caserta Provincial Command, one from the Benevento Provincial Command and one from the Avellino Provincial Command.
Five heavy waste collection vehicles and a residential container caught fire, generating a column of black smoke that invaded the entire surrounding area and was clearly visible for many kilometers. The rapid action of the Fire Brigade ensured that the fire was contained and extinguished without spreading to other heavy vehicles parked nearby. No people were involved in the fire and the causes are still to be ascertained.
