A 51-year-old man died in the countryside of Formicola in the province of Caserta following an insect bite.

The man, from Santa Maria Capua Vetere, resident in the Iacp district, was busy with his brother doing some gardening work when he was stung by the animal, perhaps a bee, perhaps a hornet.
The 118 health workers were alerted but when they arrived on the scene they could do nothing but confirm his death. The police are investigating the matter.
