Casoria. A 20-year-old man injured by a backfire from a barbecue died this morning in the intensive care unit of Frattamaggiore Hospital, where he had been hospitalized since last night.
The 20-year-old was burned on various parts of his body yesterday evening, while lighting a barbecue with alcohol. According to the reconstruction by the Carabinieri of the operational and radiomobile unit of Casoria, who intervened on the scene, the 20-year-old had shortly before lit a barbecue grill, using ethyl alcohol to feed the fire.
The return flame burned him in various parts of his body. The young man had been hospitalized in Frattamaggiore and was about to be transported to the Cardarelli hospital by ambulance. But this morning due to sudden complications - the carabinieri say - the boy died.
