Circa 200 swimmers, including representation from theArgentina, took part in the three-day event Swimming di Background in the waters of castellabate, within the scope of the competitions organised by the Nautical Club Punta Tresino under the patronage of Common di castellabate and FIN, with the collaboration of Italian Sports Center and Agropoli Rowing Club, and with the support of sponsors RTS e ConvergencesThe initiative is part of the Grand Prix “The Three Sirens”, which will take place until September between Amalfi Coast, Cilento e Sorrentine peninsula.
In the crossing of 3 km he triumphed Salvatore Mazzotta (SSD Sorrento Infinity Arl), followed by Massimiliano Pinto (Two Bridges SSD) and Joseph Cantisano (Caravaggio SV Acqua SSD). In the women's ranking, the highest step of the podium for Irene Mantovani (Villa York Sporting Club), followed by Marina Peluso (Peppe Lamberti NC ASD) and Renata Mary Perretti (Swimrun South ASD).
In the test of 5 km, always in the heart of the Marine Protected Area of Santa Maria di Castellabate, has won Salvatore Saldutti (ASD Vanessa Nuoto Smile), second place for Luca Monolo (Milanese Swimmers) and third place for Luca Parrella (Rari Nantes Nuoto Salerno). Among the women, triumph for Chiara Cascella (Olimpia Sport Village SSD), followed by Rosa Coppola (Olimpia Sport Village SSD) and Antonietta DiGiovannantonio (Acadueo Srl – Aversa).
In the mile, however, he won Luca Campese (Caravaggio SV Acqua SSD), second place for Castle Scola (SSD Summary) and third step of the podium for Michael Bavaria (Peppe Lamberti NC ASD). In the women's ranking, first place for Lucy Saved (Cus Salerno ASD), second place for Francesca Fortini (Peppe Lamberti NC ASD) and third place for Giuseppina Auletta Peppe Lamberti NC ASD).
Grand finale, Sunday morning, with the 15 km crossing of the “Gran Fondo Italia”, a long-distance open water swimming stage circuit, which saw the Argentine triumph Claudio Marcelo Plit, already winner of four editions of the Capri-Naples. Second place for Angel Roman Taxi Driver (Federacion Cordobesa De Natacion) and third place for Andrea Ruzzi (Canottieri Milano). Among the women, triumph for Raffaella Aimone (ASD Nuotatori Canavesani), followed by the Argentinians Celeste Monica Ramos e Victoria Chamorro.
