What a spectacle the dolphins swimming in the Gulf of Naples

This summer, dolphins have once again chosen to come to the Gulf of Naples to swim and be admired. The Punta Campanella Marine Protected Area announced this with a video and post , as they are on the front lines protecting the health of these splendid cetaceans and saving them from the many dangers present in the area, such as fishing nets.

The spectacle of seeing dolphins swimming in the Gulf of Naples was captured on video by the many boats in the area. The Punta Campanella Marine Protected Area posted the Mammamia Charter video on its Facebook page: " The dolphin spectacle in the Gulf of Naples . The Life Delfi project continues with our Marine Protected Area, which has distributed sonic deterrents and traps to fishermen to prevent dangerous interactions between dolphins and fishing nets ."

Dolphins had already been spotted in the Gulf of Naples on February 21st when during sailing races they were seen in the Neapolitan waters, in the stretch of sea between Nisida and Bagnoli. The episode was quite “spectacular” because while the boats were “battled” in the Gulf of Naples, several dolphins were following them, almost as if they were also watching the race.

Dolphins are present in the Gulf of Naples also in the marine protected area called "Regno di Nettuno" which includes the stretch of sea that surrounds the Phlegraean archipelago formed by Ischia, Procida and Vivara. In this protected area it is possible to see not only dolphins, but also fin whales and sperm whales.
