Covid, the alarm of the Biologists: "Virus not defeated. Government adopt precautions or the pandemic will raise its head again"

"I contagions Covid continue to to go up. Today in Italy they are estimated approximately 132 thousand new almost in front of 100 deaths. However, these are partial estimates since in our country the positive cases that escape checks are much more numerous than one might believe”. This was declared in a note by the Dr. Pietro Miraglia, vice president ofNational Order of Biologists, explaining that “this is happening because, in unsuspecting times, the health authorities have authorized the so-called 'do-it-yourself swabs' without any possible traceability, unlike what happens in public and private facilities where, instead, there is an obligation to transmit positive cases to the Coronavirus Center”.

Secondo Miraglia: “with the exponential increase in infections, there is a risk of serious damage to the health of the elderly and frail; furthermore, the spread of the virus will put the stability of healthcare facilities to the test”. Yet, the ONB representative insists "from the institutions' side it seems that everything is normal. There are even those who call for the abolition of isolation for those who test positive without realizing that the 'free for all' will mean the spread of the disease with unpredictable outcomes".

For the Vice President of the Order of Biologists: “It is not enough to ask people to be responsible if even today, in Italy, there are 6 million unvaccinated people and millions who have not completed the vaccination cycle”.

"Covid has not been defeated. If the Government does not use precautions such as wearing masks in crowded places and does not forcefully ask citizens to get vaccinated again, we risk making the pandemic raise its head again dramatically", concludes Miraglia.
