Covid in Campania, the number of new cases and especially hospitalizations is always very high, so much so that the president of the Region, Vincenzo De Luca, speaks of a dramatic situation.

Il SNOW of the regional crisis unit delivers today 13254 new positives to Covid in Campania certified thanks to 12.485 antigenic swabs and 769 molecular tests out of 39.715 carried out (33.830 antigenic and 5.885 molecular), for a positivity rate of 33,37%, in slight bending compared to 34,67% recorded yesterday.

The deceased are six. The occupied intensive care beds are increasing and today they are 34 compared to the 30 recorded yesterday (+4). Also slightly increasing are the hospital beds 606 employed (+6).

"The situation in hospitals is dramatic. We have ten times more infections than a year ago, four times more hospitalizations in ordinary wards, 20 percent more in intensive care where all in all things are holding up. But it is evident for statistical reasons that we will eventually reach intensive care as well."

This was stated by the President of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca, during the event 'Laboratorio Sanita' 20/30' at Citta' della Scienza. The Campania governor underlined that “in the hospitals there is a part of the medical staff who are infected and therefore do not go to the wards and furthermore we are now in the middle of the staff vacation plan. The staff is exhausted, they can't take it anymore.

Between holidays, retirements and infected staff, we are struggling to support the ordinary departments. They don't know this in Rome, it's the concrete reality that the Regions have to manage, and thank goodness. In this country, 99 percent of the anti-covid work was done by the Regions, not Rome. Rome did nothing", he concluded.
