Covid in Campania, De Luca: "All beds occupied"
"In recent weeks we have had demonstrations, shows with tens of thousands of people. There has been a trivialization of the Covid problem, it has been said that it is a flu, it is a cold, but we already have all the Covid beds occupied".
This was stated by the President of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca, who spoke at the presentation of the basic psychology service of the regional health service. De Luca recalled that compared to last year “the numbers have multiplied by 10. We went from 120 positives per day at the end of June 2021 to 10.500 today, and the figure is underestimated because we have thousands of asymptomatic people or perhaps, having a bit of a sore throat, they decide to go out anyway.
The virus may be less aggressive from the point of view of the health impact, but in the meantime we already have all the Covid beds occupied”.
