Covid in Italy: today 86.334 cases and 72 deaths

The epidemic curve continues to rise in Italy. There are 86.334 new cases Covid in the last 24 hours, compared to 83.274 yesterday but above all 55.829 last Friday. The swabs processed are 316.040 (yesterday 296.030) with a positivity rate that drops from 28,1 to 27,3%, never so high. The deaths are 72 (yesterday 59).

The total number of victims since the beginning of the pandemic thus rises to 168.425. Hospitalizations are increasing: 3 more intensive care units (yesterday +13), which thus become 264 in total with 37 admissions today. And 238 more are ordinary hospitalizations (yesterday +338) for a total of 6.592, the 17th consecutive day of growth.

This is what emerges from the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health. The region with the highest number of cases today is Lombardy with 11.575, ahead of Lazio (+11.529), Campania (+10.699), Veneto (+7.959) and Emilia-Romagna (+6.674). The total cases since the beginning of the pandemic reach 18.610.011. The discharged/recovered in the last 24 hours are 42.611 (yesterday 34.599) for a total that rises to 17.512.580. The currently positive are 44.217 more (yesterday +49.576) for a total that rises to 929.006. Of these, 921.912 are in home isolation.
