Discovering Cilento: tourist itineraries for the enhancement of the Cilento territory.
“Discovering Cilento” kicks off, the project conceived and implemented by Cilentour srl, a travel agency and tour operator with offices in the heart of Cilento and admitted to the benefits referred to in the public notice aimed at promoting “Interventions for the strengthening of intermediation tourism for the repositioning and relaunching of the regional tourist offer" promoted by the Campania Region, General Directorate for cultural policies and tourism as part of the POR Campania FESR 2014-2020 - Action 6.8.3. “Support for the integrated use of cultural and natural resources and the promotion of tourist destinations”.
The aim of the project is to promote the entire Cilento area by creating tourist packages even in the most internal and less accessible areas. The company, in fact, aims to enhance a land that, in addition to the various naturalistic and cultural beauties, has within it a series of structures and attractions that suffer from poor promotion and, consequently, poor visibility.
The “Discovering Cilento” project therefore involves the creation of a series of specific tourist packages to be offered even in the low season months. The packages are designed to enhance some of the most significant elements of Cilento, in particular the combination of nature, food and wine, tradition and culture, and aim at different customer groups by implementing diversification by type of activity and period of time with a particular eye on Millennials. Thanks also to the numerous agreements, stipulated with different entities present in the area, from associations to structures, each customer will have the opportunity to enrich their package, starting from those proposed by Cilentour srl with new and refined experiences.
“Discovering Cilento” is also in step with the times thanks to a wise use of technology. In addition to an improvement in the company's online presence through the creation of a dedicated e-commerce platform and a greater presence on social media, the specific packages included in the project are easily accessible thanks to the presence of tablets that are provided to each group. Each tablet will have the Hearth Travel mobile App pre-set inside, which travelers can use to integrate their travel experience by exploring, through the material uploaded to the platform, the places where they will be accompanied by guides and those nearby.
The objective is to implement the travel experience with ready-to-use technological tools enriched with applications that allow the tourist to fully enjoy the proposed experiences. A rich network of entities operating in the area with the aim of making Cilento an active tourist destination 365 days a year.
