Salerno, 54-year-old woman gives birth after difficult pregnancy at Ruggi D'Aragona hospital
The Ruggi d'Aragona hospital in Salerno confirms itself as a national excellence for high-risk pregnancies. The story of a 54-year-old woman who gave birth, not without complications, to a 1,670 kg baby girl ended happily.
The lady in question carried out a high-risk pregnancy, not only because of her advanced age, but also because of a large fibromatous uterus and fetal growth retardation.
After a series of precautions and constant monitoring by the High-Risk Pregnancy and Prenatal Diagnosis Operating Unit, directed by Dr. Mario Polichetti, the pregnant woman gave birth in the 35th week and 6 days, a period of safe birth.
The little girl and her mother are doing well, a testament to the efficiency of the Maternal and Child Department of Ruggi and the constant attention that the General and Health Management reserve for these pathologies.
