The GIP of the Court of Benevento, Dr. Gelsomina Palmieri, accepting the thesis of the lawyer Vittorio Fucci, has granted freedom to Maurizio Arena, a 44 year old from Montesarchio, granting him house arrest.
As you may recall, Arena was involved in the maxi-blitz of March 28th that led to the execution of 11 precautionary measures. Maurizio Arena, a character already known to the news, who boasts specific previous numbers, together with his brother Gaetano was considered the head of the group that managed drug trafficking in Valle Caudina. The arrests were based on wiretaps and environmental interceptions and on statements from various buyers of narcotics, as well as on stakeouts by the Carabinieri.
