“A double Camorra homicide in an apartment on Via Montale in Ponticelli in the Eastern Area of Naples. Two people massacred by gunshots by the clan's killers that further shake residents and shopkeepers forced to live under a perpetual curfew between murders, shootings and dynamite attacks.
This is yet another bloodbath that occurred a few hours after the arrest of the boss Emmanuel De Luca Bossa and three other people, including an untraceable minor, for having carried out a 'stesa' in Viale Margherita in Ponticelli at the beginning of July and threatened them in another episode with a Skorpio submachine gun by the police.
We are tired of repeating it: the overflow of violence in Naples must become a national issue. Civil coexistence and public safety are threatened. In Naples, at this moment, anything could happen. It is true, there is strong attention from the Minister of the Interior, more police and reinforcements have been sent to Naples. There is a great work of the judiciary and all the forces of law and order.
But all this is not enough. The State must do more, intervene at 360 degrees: tackle the social, educational, cultural disaster of entire generations left adrift and available to swell the ranks of the criminal system. Every year over six thousand minors enter the prison circuit for crimes committed, children of the Camorra, the majority repeat offenders.
On the contrary, Istat tells us, many young people from Naples and Campania prefer to leave, escape and build their future elsewhere. We must act quickly, Naples must be disarmed”, Senator Sandro Ruotolo explained in a note.

“We had shouted it in every way: “How long will we have to wait to see answers to the violence in the neighborhoods? In the past months we have tried in every way to keep attention high on the violence that persists in the city and province of Naples: through committees, mobilizations and complaints; through our daily presence in territorial education, with neighborhood associations committed day and night to build another idea of life and community.
We reacted when bombs exploded, after ambushes and intimidations. But the air in Naples continues to be unbreathable. Political responses continue to be late. Structural responses are needed in terms of security and social policies; in terms of jobs and educational policies that accompany minors in and beyond school until they turn 18”.
This is what Libera states in a note, speaking about theambush occurred in Ponticelli, costing the lives of two people. “We will return to the streets to mobilize because silence is an accomplice of the Camorra and of those who want to describe Naples as an indifferent and accustomed city.
