The Miglio d'Oro Sea Festival continues its itinerant tour with Javier Girotto trio and Ayom at Villa del Parnaso, in Torre Annunziata.
After the success of the first weekend of events in Portici with Eugenio Bennato, the cooking show by Don Pasta and the live performance by Ars Nova Napoli, the Festival del Mare del Miglio d'Oro directed by Gigi Di Luca, continues its traveling program in Torre Annunziata.
On Saturday 9 July at 21 pm, Villa del Parnaso will host Tango Nuevo, a “reloaded” tango proposed by the Argentine saxophonist Javier Girotto, who together with the bandoneon of Gianni Iorio and the piano of Alessandro Gwis, immerses himself in the music of one of the most important recordings of modern tango. The concert in fact takes its name from “Tango Nuevo Revisited”, a recording inspired by the album recorded in 1974, which saw the meeting of tango with the world of jazz and consolidated the bond between the last innovator of this genre, Astor Piazzolla and the jazz musician Gerry Mulligan.

The following day, again at 21 pm at Villa del Parnaso, space for Ayom, a multi-ethnic band of 6 musicians from Angola, Brazil, Greece and Italy with the singer and percussionist Jabu Morales at the center of the stage. Their name means “Lord of Music”, which in Afro-Brazilian mythology (Candomblé) is the spirit that lives inside the drum and who taught human beings music and singing.
Ayom are musical navigators whose repertoire intertwines Brazilian, African, Mediterranean and South American rhythms with lyrics in Portuguese, Spanish, Yoruba and Kimbundu. A nomadic, provocative and dancing musicality, where tradition and contamination, male and female, poetry and energy coexist, in a musical journey that starts from the Atlantic coast and reaches the Mediterranean Sea. With intense colors and incandescent rhythms, Ayom's is actually an innovative and absolutely contemporary sound.

On the third weekend of July the festival then moves to Ercolano. On July 16 at the Parco Urbano del Miglio D'Oro, at 21 pm, Enzo Gragnaniello is expected in concert. On Sunday July 17, instead, the pianist Andrea Rea will perform in a trio with Daniele Sorrentino on bass and Lorenzo Tucci on drums, at the Antico Bagno Favorita at 20 pm with spectators sitting on the beach. The final act of this first edition will be held in Torre del Greco. On July 23 at the Area Porto of the city of corals, a double set will be staged from 20 pm with the theatrical show “Colapesce oltre la leggenda”, directed by Pietro Pignatelli with Alessandro D'Auria together with other actors and the live by Maurizio Capone entitled “Come suona il Caos”.
The closing, Sunday 24 July at 21 pm, at Molini Meridionali Marzoli with James Senese. The legendary Neapolitan saxophonist presents live his twenty-first and latest album, “James is back”.
Also on the program are taste workshops, cooking shows, exhibition stands and poetic narrations, which will anticipate the performances on the main stage.
