Yellow in Stuttgart: Two men were found dead inside the well-known restaurant they ran in Stuttgart, Germany.

On the body there were deep cuts, perhaps caused by knives or pieces of glass. The victims were two Italian restaurateurs: Rosario Lamorning e John Valley. Both 53 years old, the first was originally from Caggiano, in the province of Salerno, while the second was from Roccagorga, a small town in the province of Latina. What happened is still a mystery: it is assumed to be a murder-suicide after an argument, but there is no confirmation.

In Germany, the two ran a very renowned restaurant together in Geschwister-Scholl Strasse: the 'Valle', in fact, which had become a point of reference for the many Italians living in Stuttgart.

The discovery of the bodies, which occurred on Monday at 15.50:XNUMX p.m., was possible thanks to a tip-off. The German police are investigating the death of the two Italian restaurateurs in depth, and no hypothesis is being ruled out. Perhaps, as some German newspapers say, there was a fierce fight.

In Caggiano, Lamattina's hometown, there is talk of a murder-suicide at the end of an argument, a circumstance supported by the fact that the bodies were found inside a room of the restaurant (perhaps in the basement, or in an office) with the door locked from the inside. According to rumors reaching the town, the hypothesis favored by German investigators is that Gianni Valle killed his partner Lamattina, at the end of a fight, and then took his own life. There is talk of problems with depression and also of economic issues: it seems that the two had sold one of the two restaurants they ran together.

But the German police are not commenting on these hypotheses. The spokesman, Stephan Widmann, limited himself to saying that there is no "evidence that other people may have participated, nor that there was any involvement of organized crime." A mystery, therefore, that the autopsy could perhaps help clarify, reconstructing the manner of the deaths.

The two restaurateurs were quite well-known figures in their environment, and not only: after the news was relaunched on the web and social media, there were hundreds of posts of condolence but also of disbelief for what happened. Especially in their communities of origin, which however they had left a long time ago. Valle, in particular, had moved about 20 years ago from Roccagorga, where he ran a bar in the center of the town.

Lamattina then left Caggiano, a town of 2.700 inhabitants on the outskirts of Salerno, about 30 years ago, precisely to pursue his dream of working and making a name for himself in the restaurant business. But he was tied to his homeland and returned to Caggiano often. In their restaurant, Lamattina and Valle (who had gone into partnership a few years ago) always welcomed customers with great availability and with particular warmth the Italians who went to the restaurant, Lamattina's friends in Caggiano tell us, "especially to meet up with family." They speak of Rosario as "a generous and always available man. Many young people from the area went to his restaurant to learn the trade and he always welcomed them with pleasure. The entire community is shocked."

After the autopsy, when the body is returned to the family, he will return to Caggiano for the funeral. However, the mystery remains to be solved, which a macabre detail makes even more intriguing: last Monday, in a garage of the same building as the restaurant, a 32-year-old woman was found dead. The circumstances have not yet been fully clarified, but according to the police "the cases are not connected".
