Giffoni: 250 guests, Gary Oldman and Richard Madden will be there. The festival from July 21st to 30th, dedicated to the Invisibles.

Making visible what remains in the shadows today, bringing out and valorizing thousands of children and adolescents who are imperceptible in the eyes of society. This is the theme that Giffoni has adopted in 2022 and has chosen the Archaeological Park of Pompeii to present the program of the festival that will take place from 21 to 30 July in Giffoni Valle Piana and which will involve 5000 giffoners from 33 nations.

Over 250 guests, national and international talents, the new generation of actresses and actors, emerging directors of Italian cinema. In addition to those already announced, such as Gary Oldman, Richard Madden, Gabriele Mainetti, Eduardo Scarpetta, Laura Morante, Me contro Te and Maria Chiara Giannetta are added, among others.

On August 25th the protagonist is the Scottish actor Richard Madden, who will be awarded with the coveted Giffoni Award. Talented and versatile since the beginning of his career, Madden has quickly become a world-famous interpreter universally known and appreciated.

His role as Sergeant David Budd in the miniseries Bodyguard earned him the 2019 Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama Series. He appears again in Rocketman, a biopic about the life of Elton John, as Robb Stark, one of the most well-known and beloved characters in the HBO saga Game of Thrones, and as Ikaris in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Eternals. July 28, on the other hand, is Gary Oldman's big day, as he will receive the Francois Truffaut 2022, the most prestigious award of the Festival.

Universally recognized as one of the leading actors of his generation, Oldman has amassed more successful film roles than any other actor active in the last twenty years.
