Hiromi inaugura la XXVII edizione del festival Pomigliano Jazz in Campania, sabato 16 luglio all’anfiteatro romano di Avella.

The Japanese pianist and composer, one of the most talented protagonists of the new world jazz scene, will perform exclusively at the Roman amphitheater of Avella on July 16, 2022 with her “The Piano Quintet”.

In the only Italian date of the European tour she presents her latest album “Silver Lining Suite”, released last October and composed during the quarantine while she was engaged in a series of streaming performances to support the Blue Note in Tokyo and New York. Accompanying her on this intense musical journey will be an excellent string quartet composed of Tom Pigott-Smith (violin), Shlomy Dobrinsky (violin), Meghan Cassidy (viola) and Gabriella Swallow (cello).

An artist with great sensitivity and versatility, Hiromi counts among her influences Bach and Franz Liszt, King Crimson, Dream Theater and Sly & the Family Stone.

Last summer she was invited to perform solo piano at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium for the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Now, after dates in Japan as a trio and in Brazil as a solo piano, she is coming to Europe for a series of concerts with “The Piano Quintet”. The tour, which started from the Konzerthaus in Vienna, will touch some of the main festivals of the Old Continent, such as the North Sea in Rotterdam or the Festival Da Jazz in St. Moritz, before arriving at Pomigliano Jazz.

Hiromi's concert at the festival directed by Onofrio Piccolo, will be introduced by a live performance by Alessandro Tedesco who will perform his latest album "Magma", published by Paolo Fresu's Tuk Music, in a trio with Giovanni Francesca and Angelo Funaro.
