In Italy in 2022, food waste was recorded equal to 30,95 kg of food per person, a disarming and rapidly growing fact that can no longer be ignored. Every day, many food products are wasted because they are left to expire, deteriorate in the fridge or stored incorrectly.

In the last year alone, Italy has recorded an increase in food waste of 15% compared to 2021. Among the most wasted foods, according to the infographic “The Anti-Waste Superheroes"of Bennet, There is fresh fruit, tubers, bread and vegetables.

The infographic also offers theidentikit of the wasteful, who buys more than necessary and throws away leftovers instead of storing them properly (in Italy alone, each person wastes approximately 595,3 grams of food per week), with serious consequences in terms of pollution and waste of money and resources.

  • Use leftovers for other meals instead of throwing them away
