The Alexa phenomenon continues to grow and more and more Italians are using Amazon's voice assistant to simplify their daily lives, through their own voice.
In the period between January and June 2022 alone, over 317 million interactions were generated in Campania, with a growth rate of 36% compared to the same period last year. Campania is in fact among the first regions in Italy for the number of interactions with Alexa.
At the top of the ranking of provinces that interact most frequently with Alexa are the inhabitants of the province of Naples, followed by the provinces of Salerno and Caserta, while the province with the highest growth rate of interactions compared to the same period last year is Benevento, with 40% more.

Smart Home: 49 million voice interactions and 23 million Smart Home actions performed via Routines.

These functions are among the most popular skills – or voice applications. With a 34% increase, users in Campania are increasingly using Alexa and devices from the Echo family to manage their home, asking for example: “Alexa, turn on the light in the living room” or “Alexa, set the temperature in the bedroom to 23 degrees”. After the Neapolitans, this function is used most frequently by the inhabitants of Salerno, with a 36% increase in voice interactions for the Smart Home compared to 2021.
Smart Home management through routines is also growing: compared to last year, actions performed through routines to manage your devices have grown by 27%, for a total of 23 million actions performed. You can set routines on the Alexa App and customize the commands. You can say, for example, "Alexa, I'm going to bed" and set Alexa to turn off all the lights in the house, or turn on the devices at sunset or at specific times. Benevento is in first place for the growth rate of Smart Home actions performed through routines: +153% compared to last year!
Time Management: Over 9 million activated timers
The timer setting proved to be invaluable for the people of Campania, which increased by 59% compared to the same period last year for a regional total of over 9 million activated timers. The people of Avellino are the users who have increased the timer setting the most this year: +74% compared to the same period last year.
Start of the day: Over 3 million alarms activated

While Naples and Salerno remain in the lead in terms of number of alarms set and frequency of use of the function, Benevento is the province with the highest growth rate: +61% of alarms set compared to the period January-June 2021.
