No respite for irregular vessels and poachers. The Carabinieri of the Ischia Company, aboard the Motovedetta, have checked dozens of vessels along the coasts of Procida and the green island itself.
31 administrative sanctions were notified for over 11 thousand euros: illegal anchoring in a marine protected area, speeding near the coast, lack of ship's documents and anchoring beyond the permitted distance from cliffs and beaches.
A fisherman was fined over 2 euros for placing traps in a body of water reserved for swimming. The equipment was confiscated and the 25 kilos of octopuses he caught were released back into the wild because they were still alive.
