Volunteers, diving operators and law enforcement: all together to reduce the impact of the Festa a mare at the Sant'Anna rocks in the Cartaromana bay, in Ischia.
Thus, with the coordination of the Kingdom of Neptune, the great operation of cleaning the seabed and rocks took shape this morning after the event that moved thousands of spectators yesterday.
“In particular, plastic material was recovered, primarily cans, and abandoned fishing gear, for a total of two cubic meters of waste, a quantity significantly lower than previous editions, which photographs a clear sign of civilization on the part of the population,” explains the director of the Kingdom of Nettuno, Antonino Miccio.
The activities were attended by the Campania Sub Carabinieri Nucleus, the Ischia Coast Guard, the Hester association with its sea sweeper, ASN Diving, the NEMO association, UNEC and Volontari Caretta in Vista. The Municipality of Ischia offered logistical support to the operation, expressing appreciation for the efforts to protect the environment and the ecosystems of the bay.
