The story happens in the United States, a young girl goes to the chiropractor for neck pain but comes out completely paralyzed. Fanpage.it reports the story of Caitlin Jensen, the girl had shown up at the chiropractor's office for a simple visit for neck pain but left shortly after on a stretcher due to cardiac arrest and a stroke that left her completely paralyzed. The young girl was then saved in extremis by doctors but is now completely paralyzed and can only move her eyes.
It all started on June 16th, Caitilin had gone to the chiropractor for some pain. But while they were performing a maneuver on her neck, the girl had a cardiac arrest and a stroke; only the emergency doctors managed to save her life.
Rushed to the hospital, after paramedics stabilized her health, medical tests revealed that she had four damaged arteries inside her neck. Doctors were later able to repair the damage and placed a stent in one artery. The young woman has since remained hospitalized in the neurological intensive care unit at Memorial Hospital in Savannah.
Unfortunately, although he is conscious, he can only respond by blinking and wiggling the toes of his left foot, the rest of his body is in a state of paralysis.
For the family, it was the chiropractor who caused all that damage. “The surgeon who saved her life, and all the other doctors who examined her, all agreed that this happened as a direct result of the neck maneuvers.” the girl's mother told WSB-TV.
The family, to cover the huge medical and legal expenses, and the costs of rehabilitation, has organized a fundraiser. The doctors are optimistic that she will be able to recover other mobility of the body, but it will be a long and tiring journey as well as the investigations to ascertain what caused these serious injuries to the girl.
