He spread jihadist propaganda and photos of himself carrying the ISIS flag.
The State Police of Lecce has executed an order of house arrest custody issued by the GIP of Lecce at the request of the DDA of the local Public Prosecutor's Office, against a 49-year-old Albanian citizen resident in Galatina, for the crime of “incitement to crime and apology, aggravated by the purpose of terrorism and the use of IT tools”.
The investigation, coordinated by the Service for the Countering of External Extremism and Terrorism of the Central Directorate of the Prevention Police, began in 2018 following a report from the intelligence sector and would have allowed the reconstruction of the radicalization path undertaken by the arrested person who, over the years, would have developed a deep adherence to Islamic extremist ideologies, denoting a radical change in his way of life.
The investigations revealed that the Albanian had developed a deep aversion to Italian laws and the Western lifestyle and that he was allegedly busy spreading numerous jihadist propaganda contents on the web, including photos of him with the ISIS flag, and at the same time had relations with important figures in international terrorism that had already emerged in sector investigations conducted abroad.
During the operation, computer material was seized and will be further investigated.
