Guitarist Marco Laurenzana is back on tour with his trio. On July 10, Laurenza will perform at the Guitarisco Festival in Battipaglia.

There will also be the 'maestro' and guitarist from Caserta Marco Laurenza at the 'GuitarSciò' in Battipaglia, in the province of Salerno, scheduled for 9 and 10 July. This is the first festival in Southern Italy entirely dedicated to guitars, instruments, accessories for musicians, enthusiasts or the curious. Laurenza will be present at the stand of the Caserta luthier, Enzo Pascariello and will play in particular at the stand 'Maple Handmade – Camarota Bass & Guitar – Piana Acoustic Lab' at 19.45:10 pm on XNUMX July, accompanied by Alfonso Camarota on bass and Raffaele Natale on drums. The performance will follow that of the well-known jazz guitarist, Pietro Condorelli.

The Festival will feature various guitarists of national and international importance, including the names of the great American guitarist and leader of Mr Big. Paul Gilbert, an idol for over 30 years of generations of guitarists, as well as the great Andrea Braido, who was the guitarist of Vasco Rossi, Mina and many other internationally renowned artists for years. After the pandemic emergency, guitarist Marco Laurenza has returned to full activity in various clubs in Campania with his 'Marco Laurenza Trio' and with lifelong friends and great musicians: Leonardo De Lorenzo on drums and Lello Somma on bass, an artistic formation that has been active for at least 15 years, a group that has long performed original compositions by maestro Marco Laurenza, as well as compositions by contemporary jazz authors: including John Scofield, Pat Metheny and Charlie Haden, as well as the contemporary reinterpretation of standards from the African-American tradition. In some clubs.

Laurenza has collaborated with famous jazz singers such as Virginia Sorrentino and Ileana Mottola. For some years she has been collaborating with the very skilled luthier Enzo Pascariello of 'Maple Handmade Guitar' in the creation of various types of instruments, Harchtop, Solid Body, acoustic and classical guitars.

The teaching activity after almost two years of stoppage has resumed and this year it has been enriched by a seminar with the precious contribution of the maestro, Umberto Fiorentino, whose presence was strongly desired by the maestro Laurenza, his student. At the end of May, the maestro Laurenza organized at the new Accademia Toscanini, a seminar with Fiorentino, founder of the most important Italian fusion group, Lingomania, and one of the most important Italian guitarists and teachers in youth training.

Maestro Laurenza alternates teaching jazz and modern guitar (pop, funk, blues etc.) with functional harmony and especially at the Jazz and Pop Ensemble Music Workshops, where we go from authors such as Prince, Sting, Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Toto, Gino Vannelli, Steely Dan, Robben Ford and others. As for the pop workshops, we review the classic jazz standards of the African-American vocal tradition and authors of the history of jazz such as Miles Davis, Pat Metheny, John Scofield and others up to the Bossanova of Antonio Carlos Jobim and more generally to Brazilian music. Meanwhile, the teaching activity by Maestro Laurenza, carried out at the Toscanini Academy in Caserta where he is the educational director of the Modern sector, as well as responsible for the various technical workshops, recently ended with the performance at the Auditorium del 'Buon Pastore' in Caserta.

The artistic event had a great response not only for the crowded participation but above all for the effective preparation of all the students, some of whom will be chosen by the maestro Laurenza himself to support him in the numerous events already scheduled for his trio.
