'O Marenariello, clay masks made by users of the Mental Health of Naples on display at Palazzo Migliaresi in Pozzuoli.
Opening
Thursday July at 21 17.30
Migliaresi Palace, Terra District (Pozzuoli)
The photographic exhibition 'O Marenariello tells the story of a sailor's wanderings, the story of a castaway who, after much wandering, lands in Rione Terra.
The exhibition collects 15 shots for each of the masks created inside the clay manipulation laboratory in which the users of the Mental Health Services of Districts 25, 26, 27 of the ASL Napoli 1 Centro participated, managed by the social enterprise group Gesco, with the social cooperatives Proodos and Era.
The vernissage will be held on Thursday 21 July 2022 at 17.30 pm in Pozzuoli, at Palazzo Migliaresi, inside the Rione Terra, the place that is the backdrop to the narration that has 'O Marenariello as its protagonist.
The journey of the wandering sailor, who loses his beloved, has flowed not only into the clay works, but also into a poem that, during the meeting, will be interpreted by an ancient singer with music and dance.
The exhibition returns the fruits of the “Opus Argilla” laboratory, which started in April of this year, in which about twenty users of the Mental Health of the territories of Fuorigrotta, Bagnoli and Soccavo, accompanied by the operators, were involved in a ceramic path, during which they created artifacts, more precisely masks. The path, in particular, represented an opportunity for socialization for the guests of the Intermediate Residential Structures of the ASL Napoli 1 Center “Casa del Nespolo” (District 25), “La Bailadeira” (District 26) and “27 Gennaio” (District 27).
The inauguration will be attended by: Manlio Russo, director of Districts 25 and 26 of the ASL Napoli 1 Centro; Cinzia Luongo, head of the Opus Argilla project; Giuseppe Pennacchio, director of the Gesco social enterprise group; Raffaella Mazziotti, head of Sir “27 Gennaio”.
The event is open to all; anyone who wants to can visit (free of charge) the photographic exhibition until Friday 22 July 2022 at 14.30 pm.
