Massimiliano Gallo joins the jury of the Penisola Sorrentina Award, now in its twenty-seventh edition.
The famous actor joins the board of the Award of national importance that also includes the American star Paul Sorvino in its list of winners. In the fall Gallo will be among the protagonists of Rai 1 with “Vincenzo Malinconico” and “Imma Tataranni 2”.
Actor Massimiliano Gallo is this year's new entry on the jury of the 27th edition of the Premio Penisola Sorrentina, the prestigious award that includes important names in cinema and entertainment in its list of winners.
Last year he received the award for actor of the year from president Luca Barbareschi and his colleague Francesca Cavallin. Now he joins the jury of the national award, organized and chaired by Mario Esposito in synergy with the Municipal Administration of Sorrento, directed by Massimo Coppola.
It is a truly extraordinary moment for Massimiliano Gallo, who is collecting successes and prestigious awards (including recently the Flaiano prize) and who in the fall will be one of the great protagonists of RAI 1 with the second season of “Imma Tatataranni” and with “Vincenzo Malinconico Avvocato di insuccesso” (written by Diego De Silva) in which he will play the role of a man who deals with not particularly demanding disputes and who does not always bring home victories. A semi-unemployed lawyer, a semi-divorced husband and above all a grandiose, irresistible natural philosopher.
Massimiliano Gallo is not the first to join the jury of the “Penisola Sorrentina”, coming from the ranks of the winners. The same fate has befallen, over the years, Luca Barbareschi, Danilo Rea, Francesca Cavallin and Giancarlo Magalli.
The “Penisola Sorrentina” Award was founded in 1996 by Arturo Esposito and is currently one of the most well-known and appreciated brands of excellence at a national level, placed under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and accompanied by the Fondazione Film Commission Regione Campania.
The list of winners includes Giancarlo Giannini, Vincent Spano, Giuliano Gemma, the (recently deceased) Hollywood star Paul Sorvino and Oscar winners Fred Murray Abraham and Nicola Piovani.
