This is the post that appeared around 13,30pm on the official Facebook page of Maurizio De Giovanni which is receiving thousands of messages from all over the world.

In the health bulletin released by Aorn Cardarelli it is stated that "the patient was admitted to hospital in the early hours of the day for acute coronary syndrome (SCA) and immediately underwent a percutaneous revascularization procedure, with a good final result". De Giovanni is hospitalized in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and his clinical conditions "are stable".

Bestselling author of 'I bastardi di Pizzofalcone', Inspector Ricciardi, 'Mina Settembre', published by Einaudi Stile Libero and 'Sara' (Rizzoli), always at the top of the best-selling book charts and also become very successful TV series, Maurizio De Giovanni, born in 1958 in Naples, where he lives and works, achieved true record-breaking results in 2020.

Writer, screenwriter, playwright, author mostly of crime novels, in the year of the pandemic, three novels of his various stories reached the top of the charts and in 2021 there were three TV series broadcast on Rai1. Also an author for the theater, De Giovanni adapted “One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest” by Kesey and “American Buffalo” by Mamet, and created the original texts of “Indipendente”, “Mettici la mano” and “Il silenzio grande”.

This last play of his was adapted into a film of the same name, directed by Alessandro Gassmann, who also wrote the screenplay with the writer and Andrea Ozza. Appointed, in July 2020, by the Regional Council of Campania as president of the "Scientific Committee for the safeguard and enhancement of the Neapolitan linguistic heritage" to promote study and research initiatives on the Neapolitan language, De Giovanni is also part of the group of writers who conduct the writing workshop with the boys detained in the Nisida Juvenile Penal Institute.

In 2022, 'the novel L'uguaglianza del cuore' was published by Mondadori, in which he delves into the torments and humanity of Massimo, a former mathematics professor, introverted and taciturn who finds himself caring for his nephew in a coma, which will become a film directed by Alessandro Gassmann.
