This is how Maurizio De Giovanni wanted to respond, through the press agencies, to the many messages following his resignation from theCardarelli hospital in Naples. “I apologize,” explains the Neapolitan writer, “for not responding to everyone individually, but I am moved for myself and also for my characters, who have entered so much into people's hearts over the years.
I promise to continue, when they allow me, the meetings with all the readers to talk together. I will inevitably have to space them out, especially in the first few months, but this will benefit the writing and someone will be happy”.
De Giovanni, hospitalized on July 13 for a heart attack and subjected to angioplasty at Cardarelli, has returned home and given the period of strong heat, the doctors have prescribed him to rest until the end of August.
