Among the most beloved singer-songwriters on the Italian scene, Max has recently celebrated his 30-year career with the double date of SAN SIRO CANTA MAX. The show, produced and distributed by Vivo Concerti, involved the San Siro Stadium in Milan and transformed the most prestigious and sought-after venue for live music into a gigantic and exciting karaoke, giving the audience an unforgettable concert, to the captivating and engaging rhythm of his greatest classics.
Singing at the top of your lungs, this was the key to two and a half hours of pure energy: from HANNO UCCISO L'UOMO RAGNO, the extraordinary debut that instantly conquered all of Italy in the early nineties – and which saw the return of Mauro Repetto on stage, to the iconic SEI UN MITO and NORD SUD OVEST EST – which celebrated the reunion of Paola and Chiara almost 10 years after their separation, passing through the very romantic COME MAI and the nostalgic, moving GLI ANNI, the setlist retraced successes characterized by unforgettable melodies and lyrics that have rightfully entered the Italian vocabulary of several generations, for a journey back in time that brought to life the emotions of a past that no one else like Max Pezzali knows how to bring to light. Also featured are songs from the latest studio album “Qualcosa di Nuovo”, released in 2020 and enriched by several collaborations, including SEMPRE NOI with J-Ax, a surprise guest on the first of the two evenings.
San Siro was the scene of an intense show in which sharing, joy and even a pinch of nostalgia left their mark through the songs that, at least once in their lives, have represented each of us. SAN SIRO CANTA MAX is an extraordinary event that excites everyone, from the faithful listeners of the early 90s to the youngest, thanks to the universal musical language of Max Pezzali. The stage extended over 600 square meters of surface and was made spectacular by the presence of over 500 lighting fixtures. The artistic direction was entrusted to Sergio Pappalettera, an internationally renowned designer, who created the visuals for the show. Each song had a scenographic system that enhanced its performance, such as the effects of the 70s strobe lights and the graphic contributions that took on ever new shapes and colors on each song: the luminous spider webs of Spider-Man, the dashboard of the car that takes friends “to God's house”, the dashboard of the spaceship so that everything goes “where it needs to go”. There was no shortage of a wild dance troupe that transformed itself from time to time to evoke the most popular songs, thus becoming the colourful, “mythical” Arbre Magique or the Celebrità strobe lights.
There were many moments of public involvement that Max Pezzali called to himself with the acoustic performance of some songs and with a DJ set to dance to. In autumn the appointment is in the sports halls, to continue celebrating such an extraordinary career.
