Cardinal's Mill. No signs of abuse were found on the body of little Maria, the child who died on Wednesday evening in Mugnano del Cardinale (AVELLINO) where, together with her mother and six-year-old brother, she had moved a few days earlier from Saviano (Naples).
The coroner, Giovanni Zotti, appointed by the Nola Public Prosecutor's Office to perform the autopsy, will make the complete results of the expert report known in 25-30 days when the picture of the medico-legal investigation will be completed by the outcome of the histological examination and that relating to the medical records of the "Santobono" hospitals in Naples and Castellammare di Stabia, where the child had been admitted for treatment of a congenital pathology.
According to rumors, red spots were noted on the little girl's body, probably attributable to the pathology she was suffering from. The body was returned to the family and the funeral will be celebrated tomorrow at 11 in Saviano (Naples). The investigations were opened by the Nola Prosecutor's Office following public complaints from the family members of Maria's mother's former partner, according to whom the little girl, in addition to being mistreated, was not receiving adequate care for her health conditions.
It is learned that in June, the Juvenile Court of Naples had appointed a special guardian for the woman's minor children and ordered the transfer of the little girl to health facilities suitable for treating the child's pathology "for the entire time necessary to allow rehabilitation therapies to be carried out".
