Napoli. More violence and fear in Neapolitan hospitals. At Cotugno in Napoli, a nurse found himself with a black eye and a 10-day prognosis after an assault. It happened on Wednesday, July 13
A man accompanied his wife to the hospital's infectious disease emergency room, so that she could be assisted. The woman was therefore immediately taken into care and went through triage. However, as Fanpage reports, the man allegedly demanded to enter with his partner: a circumstance that is prohibited, especially due to Covid regulations.
The woman's husband, after a few hours, allegedly entered the room where triage is carried out and allegedly punched the nurse on duty in the face. The situation returned to normal only after the intervention of the security guards, who also alerted the Carabinieri, who then intervened on site. The person responsible has not yet been reported. The nurse, however, has a prognosis of 10 days.
“We ask that serious measures be taken as soon as possible against this violent person. It is worrying how violence is constantly increasing and how it is triggered not only by trivial but often non-existent reasons. These are behaviors that arise from a mentality that is closely linked to the sub-criminal culture that has taken root in our land and that must now be severed.
To do this, above all, a reform of justice is needed, providing penalties that are certain and no longer derisory for those who behave in this way. It is equally important to protect healthcare personnel, which is why emergency rooms need military or law enforcement personnel.” - declared the Regional Councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli, member of the health commission.
