This morning the Naples forestry carabinieri carried out surveys of the stands affected by the fire, along the areas hit by the fire of July 5th. The first estimates speak of 15 hectares of land that from Fuorigrotta reaches up to the edge of via Manzoni, in the Posillipo district.
The Carabinieri used the aid of a drone to reconstruct exactly the portion of the hillside affected by the flames and have the technical elements for the estimate of the environmental damage, to which will be added the costs for the extinguishing that required 80 launches from a Canadair of the national civil protection and a regional helicopter. These costs will be charged to those responsible for the fire.
The forestry police will contest the administrative penalty provided for in the prevention measures of the regional forestry regulation to the owner of the area where the fire started. The failure to remove dry vegetation in the urban-forest interface area will be notified. Investigations continue.
