The Minister of the Interior Luciana Lamorgese said this in Naples, on the sidelines of the “Ammaturo Award – Legality City of Napoli".

“This step,” Lamorgese said, “in my opinion will have a positive impact on the security of our city, I say ours because I feel a bit Neapolitan.” The head of the Viminale announced the future installation of video surveillance in other neighborhoods such as Ponticelli, projects that “will be decided soon.”

Lamorgese reiterated her commitment to Naples, which is experiencing a resurgence of violent phenomena, especially among young people: "Today I am here again," she said, "as I was at the Prefecture a few days ago. We took stock of the situation with the Prefect. We know how important video surveillance in the city is, both for investigative inquiries and for preventive interventions. After my last visit, I immediately contacted Telecom so that it could reactivate the video surveillance maintenance contracts, and signed the contract."

As for Mayor Manfredi's request to increase the number of officers in the city, "we spoke, we are in perfect harmony on everything and we will give our best. On this issue we will find the right balance between the needs of the Municipality and the availability of the Ministry of the Interior which is also working to expand the staff".
