NapoliFederico II University, Almaviva and ANM launch the community dedicated to digital innovation of mobility
Thanks to the framework agreement between the University of Napoli Federico II, Almaviva and ANM Azienda Napoletana Mobilità launch the Moova Space Pass program, with the aim of giving concrete impetus to new skills and professionalism related to the digital transformation of the world of transport, infrastructure and services. An initiative promoted within the Smart Mobility and Logistics Excellence Hub.
Presented today in the Sala Croce of the University of Federico II, the Program is full of appointments and joint laboratories strongly oriented towards innovation in the world of mobility, its transformation and the technologies that support the change in progress.
This is the heart of the Moova Space Pass program, which includes educational and training activities and is aimed at students, both undergraduate and graduate, as well as PhD students, young researchers and professionals, with participation modules on multiple levels. There are various entry points to the program – the passes – that allow access to the different spaces of the community, physical or virtual spaces for discussion and learning.
The collaboration between the University and companies in the sector is also aimed at facilitating collaboration and the entry of young talents into the world of work and innovation.
“Federico II and two important companies such as Almaviva and the Neapolitan Mobility Company have joined forces to create a technological innovation and training program,” says Cino Bifulco, Coordinator of the Master's Degree in Transportation Engineering and Mobility at Federico II.
Moova Space Pass means having entry steps into the world of training and then into that of professionalism to be used in the world of work. A mixed experience, therefore, that wants to both build the tools and train, all in a constantly evolving field such as mobility and transport. The goal is to train new figures of engineers who are particularly expert in the domain of mobility but, at the same time, capable of facing and using technological innovation to respond to the challenges of tomorrow's mobility. There will be revolutions and great changes and we all want to be protagonists".

“In a phase of strong development in the world of mobility, it is necessary to create an ecosystem to support skills that can direct and support the ongoing transformation – says Smeraldo Fiorentini, Director of Transport and Logistics at Almaviva –. All the main lines of innovation in the sector, from decarbonisation to vehicle connection, from the transformation of urban mobility models to new means of transport, up to autonomous driving, require new life, ideas and skills: the Agreement was created with the aim of developing professionals capable of designing the mobility of the future in line with the objectives of the PNRR”.
“In the coming years, mobility service companies will face two important challenges: on the one hand, the conversion of the entire surface fleet to electric and on the other, the profound digitalization of production and sales processes – says Nicola Pascale, Sole Director of ANM – To respond to these challenges, synergies between the production world of companies and that of research and university skills are essential.
With this aim, Anm invests in young people, in their personal and professional growth that undoubtedly passes through university education; therefore, all the initiatives that go in this direction must be seized and promoted, especially those that focus on the incredible opportunities that technology offers us today. New skills are needed to develop a new way of designing mobility services”.
The initiative was born from the Department of Civil, Building and Environmental Engineering (DICEA), but also involves the degree courses of the Department of Structures for Engineering and Architecture (DIST) and has the patronage of the Municipality of Naples.
The Moova Space Pass program is an initiative promoted by the Smart Mobility and Logistics Center of Excellence, born in March 2021, from the collaboration between the University of Naples Federico II and Almaviva, to accelerate the digital transformation of the world of transport, infrastructure and services. The goal of the Center is to design the mobility of the future - of land, sea and air, of people and goods - in terms of environmental, economic and social sustainability, with a strong focus on safety and accessibility, the centrality of the user and the travel experience, and management efficiency.
