Napoli. During the activities arranged by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Napoli, the personnel of the Municipal Police's Operational Unit for the Protection of Property carried out checks at some public housing units in via Camillo De Meis, for which the occupation of the properties without any title and the theft of electricity had been reported.
This was reported in a note issued by the press office of the municipality of Naples. The operations, conducted together with Enel technicians, allowed to ascertain the veracity of what was reported regarding the illegal illegal dwelling.
Following the investigations, the illegal occupants of the accommodations were reported for illegal occupation and for theft of electricity. Several cases of fraudulent connection directly to the electricity network cables or of premises supplied by tampering with the supply were also documented because the occupants had bypassed their own meter, regularly held under contract, breaking the seals of the distributor.
Even those responsible for the theft of electricity were reported to the judicial authorities, the utilities - when actually registered - were promptly disconnected and the electricity meters were seized. The utility was not disconnected only in the case of the occupants of a council house for whom it was found the existence of serious health problems that would have been complicated by the interruption of the service.
